16/06/2013: Hyperspin Update

MUGEN: Added to project. Still missing some wheel art and have to set full screen mode to all games.

OpenBOR: Trying out some games, of the 4 i played i liked 1 so dno yet if i will add all or just the ones i like. For example, there are 4 double dragon releases on OpenBOR but so far i havent felt like they can beat the original. 2B Continued...

ATARI 5200: Finished 95%. Only themes for each game can be added.
Small remark: Controls didn't seem to work a 100%. If u set certain buttons, they dont always work in-game. Its probably an emulator or rom flaw. Will have to adapt controller layout to fit this emulator (and also some PC games like Shank). All roms and artwork completed.

SEGA Model 2: Added to hyperspin, seems to work fine just haveto set controls. I seem to be saying that a lot lately, but i think ill just redo all control settings after my controller itself is complete and i know most emulators and games i will use. Some emulators dont allow much customisation in ctonrols, and some PC games are pre-defined. Luckely most games use ENTER or SHIFT button so i will use this in my "Player 1" layout

added wheel art for various systems.

HYPERSPIN folder at present date:

189 GB
112.055 files, 6.681 maps

gg lol

13/06/2013 Todays update

Nintendo 64: Hyperspin gamelist completed, extra games still to be added

Dreamcast: Seems to be working like a charm, almost done importing the games from the DC-RES project. Lots of artwork downloaded and videos are working in hyperspin.

PC Games:  Tested the PCLauncher.ahk and am going to use the "settings.ini method". Tested and worked, will only complete this after i have the computer working, that i will use for my hyperspin project. Simply because PC games envolve a lot of installing and cant be transferred to another computer.
Been thinking to rename this wheel to Playstation 3 since most (all?) games that i will install, are released on both PC and PS3 platform. And in that case, PS3 sounds way cooler right??? :-P
Only real difference are that PS3 games use analog sticks, and with most PC games i can utilise my 8-way arcade sticks.

10/06/2013:Today's Hyperspin updates:

Added custom pointer art for every system
Added and tested a few game Themes for different systems.
Downloading artwork and gameplay videos of emumovies for various systems.

ATARI 5200: installed kat5200 emu+games+wheel art checked.
Status: A number of games are not in the .XML yet and have to be added manually. Emulator settings still have to be optimised for best looks/controls

Commodore Amiga: testing with WinUAE emulator an WinUAELoader, not much succes yet :-P
Perhaps was to confident it would work out of the box with the .ahk (autohotscript) from hyperspinforum.
Status: Looks like its going to be a tricky one to get working.

TurboGrafx 16 and SuperGrafx: emulator testing
Status: postponed since today due to emulators being demo.

Nintendo GameBoy Color: VisualBoyAdvance Emulator installing + testing.
Status: Emu needs some tweaking for controls and maybe video, but works full screen allready. Gamelist to be checked

Nintendo 64: Added all artwork, wheelset, videos and some themes
Status: Controls of emu and game testing and comparing list (to check if all games are included in the .xml

M.U.G.E.N: Knew this name long ago, never knew what it meant. It's a freeware 2D fighting game engine designed by Elecbyte. Looking forward to collecting games for it. Off course the first one of my collection was Alien vs Predator :-P
Status: Working but not added to hyperspin yet. Collecting more games

Openbor: found out about this today and looking forward to finding out more :-D
2D beat-em-up game engine. So it's almost like MUGEN project, but for beat-em-ups ala Final Fight, Streets of Rage,...
Will this be worth adding to my hyperspin project???

Last thoughts of the day:
I am doing maybe too much at once but i keep finding out more and more, and its hard to stay focused on one thing. I guess a hyperspin project can be a lifetime project if u want it to be, since there's always things that can be added or improved.
The things that dont work, u want to make them working
And the things that do work, u want to make them look better in ur frontend.

Sweet dreams

FuZZyArcade the beginning

In heart i have always been a gamer, when i was a teenager i entered the world of console gaming. From Santa i got a Nintendo Entertainment System which was pretty popular back then. Switching games with friends was common, unfortunatly a lot of them are lost or stupidly sold now lol :-) Off course back in those days arcade cabinets were on every carnival, so i played those a lot to.
Over the years i also had a SNES, then switched to computer gaming for many years, and switching back to consoles with PS2, PS3 and who knows what the future will bring.

I have always been a fan of what i call 'simple' games. These days gaming is more about deadlines and the graphical aspect and this sometimes goes at the cost of plain good gameplay, which is the most important thing about a game after all. So it is not a wonder i have grown adept of oldschool games.

Having the software for many years i never thought of the possibilities with it. It was when i was curiously searching the internet for a Killer Instinct Arcade cabinet that i came across these MAME cabinets. Mame stands for Multi-Arcade-Machine Emulator. As it says, it supposably plays a lot of various console/arcade games on a personal computer environment.
Add these old games to a cabinet and u cant get more nostalgic then that. Off course buying one would be easy, but €3,5k was to much for my liking so i decided to build one myself.

Off course going from the idea to do it, to actually having a finished cabinet is not a small walk in the park. It is therefor that i wanted to somehow keep track of how i did it.
Not only so i would remember myself how i did it, and what i could've done better, but also to show to people it is not too hard and anyone can do it, but it is also not to be underestimated.
